John McFaul - Owner/Guide

John McFaul is a professional naturalist who has been leading nature walks and hikes for over 25 years. A native Calgarian, he received a BSc degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Calgary. From 1986-2003 he worked for City of Calgary Parks as a naturalist for the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Since that time, he has operated his own company. John is an honourary member of the Calgary Field Naturalists’ Society and has recently been awarded the prestigious Loran L. Goulden Award from the Federation of Alberta Naturalists. John is an accredited Professional Interpreter with the Interpretive Guides Association.

Julia Millen - Guide

Julia Millen has worked as a professional naturalist since 1986 for Alberta Provincial Parks, Kananaskis Country, the Helen Schuler Nature Centre (Lethbridge), the Anne and Sandy Cross Conservation Area, and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. Julia’s formal education includes a BSc degree in Physical Geography (University of Calgary), a BMus in vocal performance (University of Lethbridge), and a Master of Arts degree in musicology (University of Toronto). Julia is an accredited Professional Interpreter with the Interpretive Guides Association. She currenty works for Parks Canada.
